Separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck, the courageous Viola is cast ashore in the land of Illyria to seek her own fortune. Assuming a male disguise, she crosses paths with a lovesick duke, a proud, grieving beauty, scheming servants, and a wise and mischievous fool. The only play which Shakespeare himself wrote specifically for the holiday season, Twelfth Night combines a rollicking comedy of practical jokes and mistaken identities with a bittersweet tale of love, hope, and reconciliation.
