The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, one of the nation's leading classic theatre companies, offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, both behind-the-scenes and at the front-of-house. The volunteers who work with our House Management and Box Office staff, are our front-line welcoming party and they help us make the theatre-going experience an enjoyable and comfortable one for all of our patrons. They assist with ushering, concessions, taking tickets, and seating. In return for each volunteer session, individuals receive a ticket voucher good for a future performance free-of-charge. Volunteer opportunities are available in a variety of other areas including our costume shop, scene shop, various administrative departments, and for special events.
We encourage those interested in joining the Shakespeare Theatre's Volunteer Corps to complete our Online Volunteer Sign-Up Form to receive emails with upcoming volunteer opportunities — at both of our performance venues and at our Theatre Factory in Florham Park.
Scheduling is flexible.
No minimum commitment.
Opportunities are available year-round!
Volunteer Night
Each Spring, STNJ hosts a fun Volunteer Night at our Main Stage to kick off the upcoming season and to welcome back both returning volunteers as well as new ones. At the annual event, the Artistic Director gives volunteers a sneak peek preview of the upcoming season, and our Box Office and Front of House staff provide attendees with all the information they need to volunteer effectively and easily!
